- General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee To Lam held phone talks with First Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba Central Committee and President of Cuba Miguel Díaz-Canel on January 26 evening (local time).
The Cuban leader congratulated the CPV on the successful organisation of its 14th National Party Congress, and extended congratulations to the newly elected Party Central Committee, Politburo, and General Secretary Lam on their election to key leadership positions for the new term. Read full story
- Party General Secretary To Lam and a Party Central Committee delegation on January 27 morning visited and extended Lunar New Year (Tet) greetings to workers of the coal industry in the northern province of Quang Ninh.

- In 2025, Japanese companies operating in Vietnam posted their highest profit outlook in 15 years, reflecting strong business momentum despite persistent barriers related to institutions, administrative procedures, and human resources, according to a survey released on January 26 by the Japan External Trade Organisation (JETRO).
JETRO’s 2025 Survey on the Business Conditions of Japanese Companies Investing Overseas shows that 67.5% of Japanese firms in Vietnam expect to be profitable this year, up 3.4 percentage points from 2024 and the highest level since 2009. Read full story
