-Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh asked the youth of Vietnam to play a pioneeringrole while chairing a hybrid dialogue with young people nationwide on March 22.
The dialogue focused on three topics: educationand training for the building of high-quality young human resources meetingrequirements of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, improving physical health andthe cultural and spiritual life of the youth, and creating an environment for theyoung to make self-improvement, start careers, and innovate.Read full text

-Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Duc Hai paid a courtesy visit toSpeaker of the National Assembly Kim Jin-pyo and met Prime Minister Han Duck-sooof the Republic of Korea (RoK) on March 21-22 as part of his trip to thecountry.
At the meeting on March 21, the RoK NA speakernoted that the relations between Vietnam and the RoK have been developingstrongly, highlighting the elevation of bilateral ties to a comprehensivestrategic partnership in December 2022.Read full text

-Over the past 50 years, Vietnam and Belgium have enjoyed fruitful partnershipacross all fields from politics, diplomacy to economy, culture andpeople-to-people exchange, said Vietnamese Ambassador to Belgium and LuxembourgNguyen Van Thao.
The ambassador noted that although Belgium is asmall country with a population of only more than 10 million, the Europeancountry is a partner with great cooperation potential for Vietnam. As thecentre of Europe, Belgium has acted as a gateway for Vietnam to the EuropeanUnion (EU).Read full text

-BelgianAmbassador to Vietnam Karl Van den Bossche has called Vietnam a responsible,reliable and stable partner in an interview granted to the Vietnam News Agency(VNA) on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the bilateral diplomatic ties(March 22, 1973-2023).
He recalled that 50 years ago, Belgium and itsneighbouring European nations, including Luxembourg, the Netherlands and Italy,quickly recognised the young Democratic Republic of Vietnam, stressing thatthey supported the return of peace and stability to a country heavily damagedby decade-long wars.Read full text

-Over the last 50 years, relations between Vietnam and Belgium have developedfrom pure humanitarian cooperation into an increasingly effective economicpartnership, said President of the Belgium - Vietnam Friendship Association(ABV) Pierre Gréga.
Bilateral cooperation has been developingdiversely, with economic and trade ties covering a large proportion aside frompolitical, cultural, scientific, and training connections, he told the VietnamNews Agency on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the countries’diplomatic relationship (March 22).Read full text

-Vietnamwas the Republic of Korea (RoK)’s fourth largest supplier of rubber in thefirst two months of 2023, according to the Import-Export Department under theMinistry of Industry and Trade.
The department cited data from the GeneralAdministration of Vietnam Customs showing that in the January-February period,Vietnam exported 5,080 tonnes of rubber to the RoK for 8.02 million USD. Thefigures represented a drop of 16.5% in volume and 29.6% in value over the sameperiod last year.Read full text

- Policy advocacy will be promoted, alongwith efforts to call for financial and human resources for the prevention andcontrol of malaria, parasitic and insect-transmitted diseases to successfullyeliminate malaria in Vietnam by 2030, heard a conference held by the Ministryof Health and PATH, a global non-profit organisation on public health, in Hanoion March 22.
Theconference aims to contribute to, through the strengthened communications andpolicy advocacy, ensuring sustainable finance for malaria elimination,prevention and control, preventing malaria's return, and updating new andeffective treatment methods.Read full text/.

Prime Minister Le Minh Hung suggested that the two countries work together towards raising bilateral trade turnover to 10 billion USD in 2026 and eventually 15 billion USD through expanded market access for each other’s goods.

Prime Minister Le Minh Hung affirmed that the Party, State and people of Vietnam always attach importance to and wish to continuously nurture and promote the Vietnam–DPRK relationship in a more substantive and effective manner in the new development era, in line with the common aspirations of the two peoples and contributing to peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world.

PM holds phone talks with New Zealand counterpart

Prime Minister Le Minh Hung proposed six major orientations for future collaboration, including further strengthening political trust through increased delegation exchanges, high-level contacts and bilateral cooperation mechanisms, and promoting more substantive defence and security cooperation through enhanced exchanges and stronger naval and maritime security capabilities.

NA leader urged more substantive, professional deputy affairs work

National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man asked the NA Committee for Deputy Affairs to shift strongly from procedural consultation to strategic consultation, moving beyond the mindset of merely “following procedures correctly” towards policy design, process standardisation, quality control and forecasting.

Prime Minister receives Deputy US Trade Representative

The Vietnamese Government will continue to work closely with the US side to soon finalise the agreement, thereby further deepening economic, trade, and investment cooperation as the main driving force for bilateral relations, said Prime Minister Le Minh Hung.

Vietnam sees Sweden one of leading European partners in innovation, green development

Discussing regional and international issues of mutual concern, both sides affirmed their support for multilateralism and free trade, as well as the peaceful settlement of disputes and conflicts in line with international law and the UN Charter. They also stressed the importance of maintaining peace, stability, security, safety, and freedom of navigation and overflight in accordance with international law, particularly the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS).
