Hanoi (VNA) – The International conference on Artificial Intelligence and Semiconductors 2025 (AISC 2025) is expected to bring together over 1,000 leaders representing tech giants worldwide, and global experts and top scientists, heard a press conference in Hanoi on February 14.

It will feature tech giants such as Google DeepMind, IBM, and Intel, TSMC, Samsung, MediaTek, Tokyo Electron, Panasonic, Qorvo, Marvell and other corporations from Silicon Valley, developed countries and economies.

Themed “Creating the Future: Connecting AI and Global Semiconductor Technology,"

AISC 2025 will take place from March 12 -16 in Hanoi and the central city of Da Nang.

Organised by the National Innovation Centre (NIC), the five-day event will focus on discussing breakthroughs in AI and semiconductors, further solidifying Vietnam’s position in these critical industries.

This marks a significant milestone in integrating AI and semiconductor technology and reinforces Vietnam’s growing role in the global innovation landscape.

The event will focus on groundbreaking advancements in AI-driven chip design and manufacturing, as well as the potential of advanced semiconductor architectures to power AI.

It will feature in-depth technical workshops, exhibitions, cross-border business promotion programmes, and a high-level policy forum with the participation of representatives from the Vietnamese Government.

Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Duc Tam highlighted the pivotal role played by the semiconductor and AI industries as Vietnam focuses on speeding up digital transformation, green transition, and advancing science, technology, and innovation to create breakthroughs in productivity, quality, and economic competitiveness.

Vietnam is at a critical juncture as it is on the journey to enter a new era of its rise, so science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation are top priorities, he said. These are expected to be key drivers in shaping a modern productive force, enabling Vietnam to achieve rapid, sustainable, and prosperous development.

In 2024, Vietnam introduced many policies and mechanisms to advance high-tech industries, including semiconductors and AI. These efforts have helped attract investment, encourage domestic enterprises to research, transfer and master technology, and foster the comprehensive development of the innovation ecosystem.

Dr. Christopher Nguyen, founder of Aitomatic, who represents the co-organiser of AISC 2025, said the event marks a pivotal milestone in AI and semiconductor development, bringing together top global innovators to showcase groundbreaking advancements at the intersection of these technologies.

According to Bloomberg Intelligence, the global semiconductor market reached 500 billion USD in late 2024, with AI driving the digital economy. The emergence of models like DeepSeek-R1, which delivers top-tier performance while consuming only a third of the computational energy of leading AI systems, is reshaping a 1.2-trillion-USD AI ecosystem and underscoring the urgent need for more efficient computing solutions. A recent McKinsey report highlights the massive investments in AI-driven chip design and production, positioning emerging technology hubs as key players in the future semiconductor landscape.

Amid this booming trend, Vietnam is seizing opportunities through investment incentives and human resources development support, including subsidies for chip and AI production. The Government is prioritising structured training in AI and semiconductors, offering scholarships and tuition waivers for semiconductor students to better the quality of human resources.

NIC Director Vu Quoc Huy noted that the event is part of Vietnam’s broader strategy to accelerate the domestic AI and semiconductor industry, while also expanding successful collaborations—such as the partnership with NVIDIA in establishing an AI research and development centre in the Southeast Asian country.

According to Huy, NIC has been actively promoting international cooperation in technology development and application to build an innovation ecosystem in key sectors such as AI and semiconductors, and AISC is one of the initiatives co-organised by NIC to realise this goal.

In addition to main events, a ceremony will be held within AISC 2025 to announce the list of Vietnamese organisations that officially joined the AI Alliance—a global coalition founded by IBM, Aitomatic, Meta, AMD, Intel, and leading institutions./.
