Angola, Vietnam cooperate in social affairs

Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan received General Kundi Paihama,the Angolan Minister of Former Combatants and Veterans of War, onSeptember 13 in Hanoi.

At the reception, the DeputyPM expressed his pleasure at the fine cooperation between Vietnam’sMinistry of Labour, War Invalids and Social Affairs (MoLISA) and theAngolan Ministry over the past time.

He stressedthat Angola has positively coordinated with the Vietnamese side toreceive labourers and experts to the country for work, with nearly40,000 Vietnamese citizens currently living in the country.

He emphasised that Angola should speed up the signing of a frameworkagreement between the two countries in labour, vocational training andsocial welfare, expressing his wish that Angola will create possibleconditions for Vietnamese citizens to legally live and work in thecountry.

The Angolan Minister briefed the host on the outcomes of his talks with MoLISA.

He said the two ministries agreed to enhance future cooperation inexchanging information and sharing experience in the implementation ofpolicies on war veterans and in the work of identifying the remains ofmartyrs.

The two sides also reached a consensus onthe recommendation of the establishment of a working team on socialaffairs of the Vietnam-Angola Joint Committee, thus strengtheningcooperation in labour and social affairs between corresponding agenciesof both sides.-VNA
