Bangkok (VNA) – The Thai army is searching for a helicopter which went missing on August 14 in the north of the country.

Third Army commander Somsak Nilbancherdkul said the UH-72 helicopter went missing at about 10:30 (local time) on August 14 with five officers on board, including Commander of the Fourth Infantry Division Nopporn Ruanchan.

According to Somsak, the missing chopper was returning to a base in Phitsaanuloke from a relief operation mission in Pai district, near the border with Myanmar.

Spokesperson of the Thai government, Colonel Winthai Suvaree confirmed that the helicopter was missing.-VNA
