The 12th plenary meeting of the Asian Network of Major Cities in the 21st century (ANMC21) will be held in Hanoi on November 18-19.

Representatives from 12 member cities of ANMC21, including Seoul, Singapore, Bangkok, Taipei (China), Delhi, Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta, Manila, Yangon, and Ulaanbarta Tomsk (Russia) will attend the meeting.

The meeting will encompass a Dialogue session on “Urban planning - issues of implementing current urban planning projects” and “Policy of urban energy in Asia ”; reports of implementing association projects; an adoption of the Hanoi Declaration; and a fact-finding tour.

There will be a conference to promote investment, trade and tourism in Asia which is expected to see the attendance of domestic and foreign economic experts and enterprises.

The Asian Network of Major Cities 21 (ANMC21) was established in August 2000 under an initiative of Tokyo Governor Shintaro Ishihara. It calls upon the major cities in Asia to form an international framework to boost cooperation through mass joint projects.

In October, 2012, the 8th plenary meeting of ANCM21 themed “Countermeasures to combat infectious diseases in Asia ” took place in Hanoi , aimed at forming a sustainable cooperation network regarding public health in order to control and prevent infectious diseases in Asia.-VNA
