The Market Management Department under the Vietnamese Ministry ofIndustry and Trade (MoIT) on Nov. 11 hosted the first meeting oncooperation in market control in Cambodia , Laos , Myanmar andVietnam.
Representatives from the four countriesaffirmed that cooperation between the regional countries is veryimportant, contributing to encouraging healthy markets, while marketcontrols continued to exhibit several limitations.
At the meeting, MoIT’s Deputy Minister Nguyen Cam Tu said thecooperation in market inspection and control between Laos , Cambodia ,Myanmar and Vietnam aims to promote economic and tradecooperation between these countries.
The meetingalso actively contributed to implementing the action plan of economicand trade cooperation in the four countries, creating a basis forfollowing cooperative activities.
In the frameworkof the meeting, the Market Management Department signed two bilateralmemoranda of understanding with the market control agencies of Laosand Cambodia , to boost cooperation and experience exchange in thisfield.
According to Nguyen Hung Dung, Head of theMarket Management Department, annual meetings will be held by rotationin the four countries with the aim of assessing operational results andadjusting cooperative contents./.
