Buenos Aires (VNA) – A delegation of Binh Duong province led by Vice Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Nguyen Hoang Thao paid a working visit to Argentina on April 7-10 to explore investment opportunities and expand business cooperation with localities and the business community of the South American country.

During a working session with representatives of Santa Fe province, Thao briefed them Binh Duong's socio-economic development, affirming the southern province is ready to facilitate the connection with suitable partners, thus opening up opportunities to improve the efficiency of trade and investment cooperation.

Being home to 30 industrial parks with a total area of over 12,700 ha, Binh Duong is one of the leading localities nationwide in attracting foreign direct investment (FDI), he noted.

For her part, Julieta De San Felix, Senior Advisor on International Cooperation and Regional Integration to the Governor of Santa Fe, said that Vietnam is the second largest international trade partner of the central locality.

She expressed her wish that Santa Fe will become Argentina's pioneer locality in promoting multifaceted relations with Vietnam and Binh Duong in particular, especially in investment and trade.

The two sides agreed to coordinate in building programmes to promote exchange of culture, tourism, science - technology, and education, people-to-people exchange, and experience sharing, thus creating a foundation for stronger cooperation between the Vietnamese and Argentine localities.

They hoped that a Letter of Intent on enhancing bilateral cooperation between Binh Duong and Santa Fe will be signed soon.

During their stay, the delegation had meetings with representatives of the Southern Common Market (MERCOSUR) – ASEAN Chamber of Commerce, and Vietnamese Ambassador to Argentine Duong Quoc Thanh./.
