BOTB rock reality show offers lucrative prizes

The Vietnamese version of 2013 Tiger Translate Battle of The Bands (BOTB), a rock reality TV show, will offer record cash prizes of 100 million VND, 50 million VND, and 25 million VND for the first, second, and third placed bands.

The Vietnamese version of 2013 Tiger Translate Battle of The Bands(BOTB), a rock reality TV show, will offer record cash prizes of 100million VND, 50 million VND, and 25 million VND for the first, second,and third placed bands.

The show, scheduled to starton May 24, will feature Vietnamese rock bands like Ngu Cung andUnlimiteD as well as foreign talents such as Hail the Villain and TheLost Soul Club.

After the qualifying round in mid-May,bands progressing to the next stage of the competition will performthree-night Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City semi-finals beforereturning to the capital city for the final round on June 29.

Last year’s competition, performed on a stage inspired by the ancient Roman coliseum, was a massive success with audience.

They were enchanted by Ngu Cung’s northwestern Vietnamese-inspiredmelody Nu Hon Tren Dinh Fanxipan (Kiss on Faxipan Peak ) andOringchains’ winning dubstep Furious .

Beforearriving in Vietnam , the BOTB has already been regarded as aninternationally popular arts and cultural exchange programme.-VNA/VOV
