Building professional revolutionary press urged

Secretary of the Party Central Committee and head of its Commission for Information and Education Nguyen Trong Nghia on March 17 asked press agencies and journalists to stay resolved to fulfill the target of building a revolutionary press circle of professionalism, culture and modernity.

In his opening remarks at the 2023 National Press Festival in Hanoi, Nghia suggested that more attention should be paid to personnel development in order to improve the efficiency of the popularisation of the Party’s guidelines and the State’s laws and policies.

He lauded the role by press agencies and journalists in national construction and defence, especially in covering socio-economic recovery and development, Party building, the fight against corruption and negative phenomena.

The biggest festival in the press circle brings together 63 journalists’ associations of the country's cities and provinces, and 60 central and local press agencies, with 87 booths displaying outstanding publications in 2022 and the first quarter of this year. 

During the three-day event, there will be a series of sidelines events like seminars, workshops, exhibitions, a singing contest, a football tournament and art performances./.
