The Ca Mau fertiliser plant in the southernmost province of Ca Mau onJuly 26 welcomed its millionth tonne of urea fertiliser – an importantmilestone in its 16-month commercial life.
Addressing theceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai lauded its officials andworkers for their responsible working spirit over the past time.
As the largest project inside the Ca Mau gas-power-fertiliser complex,the 900 million USD plant has a designed annual capacity of 800,000tonnes of urea, which satisfies about 40 percent of domestic fertiliserdemand.
The Deputy PM expressed his belief that with dynamism,creativity and all-out efforts, the staff of managers, engineers andworkers will harvest greater successes in the time ahead.
The plant has so far earned nearly 8 trillion VND (380 million USD) in turnover.
This initial success is expected to ease the shortage of fertiliser inVietnam, ensure food security and popularise the Ca Mau fertilisertrademark.-VNA
