Phnom Penh (VNA) - Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Prak Sokhonn had a bilateral meeting on June 8 with Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi to discuss ways to foster bilateral cooperation.

The meeting took place on the sidelines of the Special ASEAN-China Foreign Ministers’ Meeting and the sixth Mekong-Lancang Cooperation Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in China’s Chongqing city.

They spoke highly of the Cambodia-China comprehensive strategic partnership, affirming their commitment to consolidating friendship and boosting collaboration in all fields, for the interests of the two countries' people.

The Cambodian official congratulated China on the 100th founding anniversary of the Communist Party of China.

China confirmed the imports of more Cambodian agricultural products, especially mango and rice. It also pledged to present additional 500,000 COVID-19 vaccine doses, and provide 4.5 million doses for Cambodia in June.

The two sides also agreed to speed up domestic procedures to ratify the Cambodia-China Free Trade Agreement to promote trade, investment and tourism between the two countries./.
