Tay Ninh (VNA) – A delegation of the Cambodian Women for Peace and Development led by its Vice President Mean Som An has paid a friendly visit to Vietnam.

The Cambodian delegation was welcomed by Nguyen Thi Tuyet, Vice President of the Vietnam Women’s Union Central Committee, at the Xa Mat International Border Gate in Tan Lap commune, Tan Bien district, the southwestern province of Tay Ninh, on February 22.

In Tan Lap commune, they burnt incense to pay tribute to hundreds of innocent civilians who were killed by the Pol Pot genocidal regime 42 years ago.

They also visited and presented gifts to volunteer Vietnamese experts and soldiers who had fought at the southwestern border battlefield.

The same day, the Cambodia and Vietnamese delegations paid a courtesy visit to leaders of the provincial Party Committee and visited Rach Gia city in the southern province of Kien Giang to attend an exchange programme between Vietnamese and Cambodian women slated for February 23.-VNA
