Cambodia’s royal army offer incense to fallen Vietnamese volunteers

A high-ranking delegation from the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces (RCAF) on January 29 offered incense to Vietnamese volunteer soldiers, who died when supporting the Cambodian people to fight the Pol Pot genocidal regime, at the martyrs’ cemetery in Duc Co district, the Central Highlands province of Gia Lai.

Gia Lai (VNA) - A high-ranking delegation from the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces (RCAF) on January 29 offered incense to Vietnamese volunteer soldiers, who died when supporting the Cambodian people to fight the Pol Pot genocidal regime, at the martyrs’ cemetery in Duc Co district, the Central Highlands province of Gia Lai.

The event was organised as part of activities to mark 39 years since the fall of the brutal regime in Cambodia.

At the ceremony, a representative from the RCAF affirmed that Cambodian people have been eternally grateful for the Vietnamese Party, Government and volunteers’ support, which helped the country topple the genocidal regime.

Nearly 1,600 sets of remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers, which were repatriated by the K52 search team under the Gia Lai provincial Military High Command, were laid to rest in Duc Co martyrs’ cemetery.-VNA
