Leaders of Can Tho visited and gave gifts to Khmer revolutionists, and Buddhist dignitaries and followers at the Association for the Solidarity of Patriotic Buddhist Monks headquarters in the Mekong Delta city on October 12 for the Sene Dolta Festival.

Sene Dolta is one of the largest Khmer festivals, paying tribute to ancestors and those who have contributed to the homeland.

The community holds the festival every year from the 30th day of the eighth lunar month to the second day of the ninth lunar month. This year it falls from October 12 to 14.

Municipal Party Committee Secretary Tran Quoc Trung extended wishes of good health and happiness to all Khmer people.

Representatives from local pagodas and the Association for the Solidarity of Patriotic Buddhist Monks expressed thanks for the attention from Party, State and local authorities. They also committed to work together to help the city and country continue to develop.

Can Tho is now home to over 20,000 Khmer people. They mainly reside in O Mon, Thoi Lai and Co Do districts.-VNA
