China’s Consulate General opens in Da Nang

Da Nang(VNA) – China inaugurated its Consulate General in Vietnam’s central city of DaNang on October 13.

Addressing the inaugural ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Da Nang People’sCommittee Ho Ky Minh said relations between Vietnam and China, as well asbetween Da Nang and Chinese localities are thriving.

Da Nang has established the friendship and cooperation with four localities ofChina, he said, noting that investment and trade links between Da Nang andChinese organisations and businesses have developed with 12 Chinese projects inthe Vietnamese city.

There are 17 air routes connecting major cities and provinces of China with DaNang.  China is always among countriesand territories having the largest number of tourists to the city.

The Consulate General is expected to promote collaboration in economy, trade,culture and science, and expand the friendship between Da Nang and itssurrounding cities and provinces, and Chinese localities and partners in a morepragmatic and effective manner, contributing to enhancing Vietnam-Chinacomprehensive strategic cooperative partnership.

The Da Nang authorities will create the best conditions for the Consulate Generalto operate effectively, in line with international practices and relevant laws,as well as the traditional relationship between the two countries, Minh said.

Chinese ConsulGeneral to Da Nang Xi Hui affirmed that the Consulate General will closelycoordinate with competent Vietnamese agencies to promote exchange andcooperation between cities and provinces under its charge and Chineselocalities, helping to consolidate the neighbourliness, friendship andcomprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and China.-VNA
