Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh hascongratulated Lao people on its 38 th National Day (December 2).

Meeting with the staff of the Lao Embassy in Hanoi on November 28,Minh lauded great achievements the country has gained in implementingResolution of the ninth Congress of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Partyand the seventh five-year socio-economic development plan.

He also congratulated Laos on the successful organisation of a numberof regional summits and conferences and its membership of the WorldTrade Organisation, which have helped raise the country’s prestige andposition in the international arena.

The DeputyPM expressed his delight at the fine development of the Vietnam-Laosspecial friendship, solidarity and comprehensive cooperation,significantly contributing to each country’s socio-economic developmentas well as maintaining peace, stability, cooperation and prosperity inthe region and the world.

Lao Charge d’Affairesto Vietnam Oukham Sengkeomixay thanked the Vietnamese Party, State,Government and people for their valuable support for his country.

He affirmed that the Lao Embassy will continue working closely withthe Vietnamese relevant agencies to further enhance the two countries’ties.-VNA
