A ground-breaking ceremony for the first international science and education centre in Vietnam was held in Quy Nhon city in the central coastal province of Binh Dinh, on Dec. 18.

The centre is designed to promote international cooperation in scientific research in the world and serve as a venue for domestic leading scientists to share experience through seminars.

Sitting on an area of 184,000 sq.m, the centre is built with an estimated investment of 6 million USD, of which 2 million USD will be spent in the first phase from 2011 to 2013.

It includes 350-seat and 150-seat convention halls, research facilities, resort and entertainment areas, swimming pools and playgrounds, furnished with international-standard equipment

The same day, a scientific conference on energy physics opened in Quy Nhon city, drawing almost 110 professors from both in and outside the country./.
