Saigon Petrol's gas prices will be cut by 24,000 dong, equivalent to 1.09 USD per 12-kg canister.
This was the sharpest cut in gas prices since the beginning of the year, pushing the retail price of cooking gas down to around 381,000 dong or 17.4 USD per 12-kg cannister.
The slump came after the world gas price dropped by 85.2 USD per tonne against March's contract price to 12.5 USD per tonne.
Ha Noi Petrolimex Gas also reduced retail prices for a 12-kg canister to 400,400 VND (19.16 USD), said Pham Anh Tu, Deputy Sales Manager of the gas company.
Gas prices have seen four consecutive downward adjustments since the beginning of this year, falling by a total of 35,000 dong, equivalent to 1.67 USD per 12-kg cannister.-VNA
