COVID-19 case number remains at 270

Vietnam recorded no new case of COVID-19 for the past 12 hours, with the number of cases remain at 270 as of 6 am on May 1, according to the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control.

Hanoi, (VNA) – Vietnam recorded no new case ofCOVID-19 for the past 12 hours, with the number of cases remain at 270 as of6 am on May 1, according to the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Preventionand Control.

The country has had no infections in the community for afull 15 days as from 6am on April 16.  

A total of 47,735 people are under quarantine or healthmonitoring across the country. They are people who returned from epidemic-hitcountries or had close contact with COVID-19 patients.

Among patients under treatment at hospitals, 10 have testednegative for SARS-CoV-2 once, and five negative for at least twice.

On April 30, Standing Deputy Health Minister Nguyen ThanhLong signed a document asking hospitals and health departments of provinces andcities to implement telemedical checkup to help with epidemic prevention.

Medical institutions can continue using software they haveused until now, or use IT platforms in accordance with guidance of the Ministryof Health and Ministry of Information and Communication./.

PM releases instructions as measles cases increase

Vietnam has recorded nearly 40,000 suspected measles cases and five measles-related deaths since the beginning of this year. The southern region reported the highest number of cases (57%), the central region accounted for 19.2%, the north 15.1%, and the Central Highlands 8.7%.
