Cruise ship brings around 2,000 foreign tourists to Phu Quoc

Italian cruise ship AIDAstella docked at Duong Dong Port in Phu Quoc City, south Vietnam, on December 18, bringing more than 2,000 visitors to the island locality, one of the most attractive tourist destinations in the country.

About 60% of the passengers are from Europe and the remainder from China and Hong Kong, according to local officials.

Phu Quoc island, a world-renowned tourist destination, is expected to welcome nearly six million visitors in 2024, including almost one million foreign arrivals.

The Duong Dong International Passenger Port, set to be inaugurated by mid-2025, is a significant upgrade to welcome more cruise ship tourists.

In addition, the city is planning to develop a second runway at Phu Quoc International Airport, enabling the island to handle a larger volume of international flights./.
