Hanoi (VNA) – Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam receivedCambodian Minister of Information Khieu Kanharith in Hanoi on December 22.

At the reception, Dam noted with pleasure the growing friendship andcomprehensive cooperation between the two countries, saying that the two sideshave regularly exchanged with and support each other in bilateral frameworks aswell as regional and international forums.
 
Celebrations for the 50th anniversary ofbilateral diplomatic ties (June 24) this year afforded both sides a chance toraise the awareness of the public, especially young generations, of thetraditional friendship and solidarity between the two countries.

Appreciating cooperation between the Radio the Voice ofVietnam (VOV) and the Cambodian Ministry of Information and the National Voiceof Cambodia, the Deputy PM said VOV assisted Cambodia in installing radio andtelevision stations and improving the capacity of radio and television programmeproduction within the framework of the inter-governmental cooperationagreement.

The host suggested both sides continue increasing coveragein both Vietnamese and Cambodian languages and adding more cultural and artprogrammes featuring the two countries and their people to raise mutualunderstanding.

On the occasion, he wished that Cambodia would reap greaterachievements in the national construction and successfully hold the Senate andNational Assembly elections next year.

Kanharith, for his part, thanked the Vietnamese Governmentand VOV in particular for their support and informed the host with delight thatthe VOV and the National Voice of Cambodia signed a cooperation agreement on December21.-VNA
