Don Mueang Airport ready for reopening

Forced to close down by the severe flood late last year, Don Mueang Airport is now ready to resume its service on March 6, having undergone a 1.6 billion-THB recovery.

Forced to close down by the severe flood late last year, Don MueangAirport is now ready to resume its service on March 6, havingundergone a 1.6 billion-THB recovery.

According tothe Airports of Thailand (AoT), the Aeronautical Radio of Thailandinspected Don Mueang Airport’s aviation safety standards andfound that the airport is ready in terms of air navigation servicesequipment.

Additionally, the runway, taxiway, apron, electricalsystem, Terminal 1, facilities, parking lot and retail shops are allready to provide services to passengers going through the airport.

In collaboration with Mahidol University’s Health Department andthe BMA Health Department, the AoT also carried out environmental healthprocedures on the airport by sanitising the airport grounds andeliminate odors in compliance with universal standard and make sure noresidual toxins remain in Don Mueang Airport.

Meanwhile, Nok Air CEO Patee Sarasin revealed that Nok Air willrelocate its operation base back to Don Mueang and will cease alloperations at Suvarnabhumi Airport.

Nok Air services atDon Mueang Airport will commence on March 6. The low cost airlinewill provide 82 flights daily as usual./.
