Dong Nai inks cooperative agreement with Japanese region

Under the document, the two sides agreed to createfavourable conditions for Kansai enterprises operating in supportindustry to invest in Dong Nai, while working together in training humanresources for the sector.

Dong Nai will improvethe work of its Kansai Desk to assist investors from the Japanese regionin operating or seeking opportunities in the province.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Director of the Bureau Seki Soichirosaid that an increasing number of Japanese firms decided to invest intoDong Nai due to the locality’s favourable investment environment.

Henoted that the Long Duc Industrial Park (IP) in Long Thanh district isbeing developed into a model IP for the partnership between Dong Nai andKansai region. The IP is currently home to 18 Japanese investors,including eight from Kansai.

The Japanese business leader saidhe hopes the provincial authorities will continue facilitatinginvestment activities of Kansai firms in Dong Nai in the coming time.

Accordingto Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Dinh Quoc Thai, thelocality attracted over 1,000 foreign investors, including 190 fromJapan with a total investment of 3.4 billion USD, mainly in supportindustry, high-technology and environmentally-friendly sectors.-VNA

Japanese retailers step up business activities in Vietnam

Aeon – Japan's largest retail group – plans to increase the number of hypermarkets, also known as "Super Supermarket (SSM)" and general merchandise stores (GMS) in Vietnam from 12 as of February 2025 to about 100 stores by 2030. Another large Japanese group, Sumitomo, also aims o open supermarkets in Vietnam, with about 10 stores per year.
