Egypt newspaper: President Quang’s visit opens new cooperation prospects

The Egyptian Gazette, the oldest English newspaper in the Middle East, on August 26 carried a story on its front page highlighting the ongoing state visit to Egypt by Vietnamese President Tran Dai Quang.

Cairo (VNA) –
The Egyptian Gazette,the oldest English newspaper in the Middle East, on August 26 carried a storyon its front page highlighting the ongoing state visit to Egypt by VietnamesePresident Tran Dai Quang.

The paper said the visit is expected to usherin new cooperation prospects between the two countries.

It reported that this is the first visit of aVietnamese Head of State to Egypt since the two countries establisheddiplomatic ties in 1963. Egypt was one of the first Arab countries to haverelations with Vietnam. 

The two Presidents will hold talks in Cairo discussingnew prospects of bilateral cooperation in a variety of domains such aspolitics, economy, trade investment, culture and education.

The newspaper quoted President Quang as sayingto Egyptian media that he was pleased to pay a state visit to Egypt at a timewhen the two countries were holding a range of significant events to celebratethe 55th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relations. 

The President was also quoted as saying that hewould discuss with President Sisi and senior Cairo government officials thedirections and measures to promote cooperation and friendship between the twocountries in politics, defence, security, trade, investment, agriculture,education and training, culture and tourism

He added that there are immense prospects andpotentials for bilateral cooperation across all areas between Vietnam andEgypt. 

The newspaper also mentioned the official visitto Vietnam by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi in September last year.-VNA
