Hanoi (VNA) - The Ministry of Agriculture and Environment (MAE) has issued a notice to the Police Department for Administrative Management of Social Order, the Border Guard Command, and the Viettel Military Industry and Telecoms Group (Viettel) regarding the deployment of a system to monitor fishing vessels and fishermen on the VNeID platform.
Following the Prime Minister's Official Dispatch No. 198/CĐ-TTg dated October 17, 2025 on implementing the peak month against illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing and promoting the sustainable development of the fisheries sector, the MAE’s Fisheries Resources Surveillance Department and the Ministry of National Defence have coordinated to synchronise and share data between the fisheries management system and the Border Guard’s vessel management system, completing the digitalisation of fishing vessel management.
To finalise and deploy the application for managing fishing vessels and fishermen on VNeID, as directed by the PM in Notice No. 620/TB-VPCP dated November 14, 2025, the MAE has requested the Police Department for Administrative Management of Social Order to coordinate with the Border Guard and Viettel Group, to connect the VNeID application with the Border Guard’s vessel management system.
The Police Department for Administrative Management of Social Order and the Border Guard Command will assign technical staff to work with the Fisheries Resources Surveillance Department to complete the connection and put the application on VNeID into operation.
The MAE has appointed Ha Le, Director of the Fisheries and Fishery Surveillance Information Centre, to coordinate with the Police Department for Administrative Management of Social Order and the Border Guard Command in implementing the connection between the VNeID application and the Border Guard’s vessel management system./.
