Flights to Noi Bai int’l airport asked to be minimised

Deputy Transport Minister Le Anh Tuan on August 10 sent a document to the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) asking it to minimise the number of flights to Noi Bai international airport based in Hanoi.

Hanoi (VNA) – Deputy Transport Minister Le Anh Tuanon August 10 sent a document to the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) asking it to minimise the number of flights to Noi Bai international airport based inHanoi.

The Transport Ministry said it received the CAAV’s dispatchregarding the suspension of flights to and from localities under socialdistancing order in accordance with the Prime Minister’s Directive No.16/CT-TTg.

The ministry also issued the dispatch No. 7143/BGTVT-VT datedJuly 21, 2021 on the control of commercial flights between Ho Chi Minh City andother cities and provinces amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Specifically, flights between Can Tho – Hanoi and Phu Quoc – Hanoi were suspended, while only two return flights were operated between Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi per day, starting from 0am on July 22 untilfurther notice.

Due to the complicated developments of the pandemic, the numberof flights between Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi has further reduced since July 24.

The ministry suggested the CAAV consider cutting the Ho Chi MinhCity – Hanoi two-way flights to below two per day, given the currentsituation./.

Education-training sector preparing for strategic turning point: Minister

Reviewing the sector’s performance in the past five years, Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son said the scale of the national education system continued to expand across all levels, with more than 24.5 million learners nationwide. Ho Chi Minh City steps up law enforcement on fishing vessel monitoring system

Ho Chi Minh City has 4,449 fishing vessels, of them 4,301 equipped with VMS devices, making up 96.67%. Between January 1, 2024, and December 31, 2025, authorities found 1,729 cases of vessels losing VMS connection for six hours or more, issuing fines in 196 cases totalling nearly 6.6 billion VND (about 252,000 USD)
