Friendship insignia granted to Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam

Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam Hong Xiaoyong has been awarded the insignia “For Peace and Friendship among Nations” for his contributions to the two countries’ relations.

Hanoi (VNA) – Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam Hong Xiaoyong has been awardedthe insignia “For Peace and Friendship among Nations”, the most notable rewardof the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisations (VUFO), for his contributionsto the two countries’ relations.

Speaking at the event on February 2, VUFO Vice Chairman DonTuan Phong thanked the ambassador and his embassy for supporting activities ofthe VUFO and the Vietnam-China Friendship Association.

Hong’s assistance has helped promote the friendship andcooperation between the two countries and their people, he affirmed.

Expressing his honour to receive such a noble reward, Hong said that the nearlyfour-year working tenure in Vietnam was an important period in his diplomaticcareer, helping him to understand more about the bilateral relations.

As the two countries have entered a new development phase,they should step up people-to-people exchange activities, he suggested.

He confirmed that in any positions, he will work to fosterthe friendship and cooperation between the Chinese and Vietnamese people.-VNA
