Fruit and vegetable exports likely to hit 4 billion USD

Experts said Vietnam’s fruit and vegetables exports may rake in 4 billion USD throughout 2018, fulfilling the target previously set by the sector.

During the first nine months of 2018, exports of fruits and vegetables are projected to grow 17.1 percent to 3.1 billion USD against the same period last year.

The export value of fruit and vegetable products in September alone is estimated at 380 million USD, bringing the country’s total export value up to 3.1 billion.

Vietnam earned 3.1 billion USD from fruit and vegetable exports, averaging over 1 billion USD for each quarter.

With an increasing demand for fruits and vegetables in foreign markets during the fourth quarter, the country’s export of these products are likely to push earnings to 4 billion USD this year.-VNA
