Gia Lai (VNA) - The Central Highlands province of Gia Lai on May 22 held a ceremonyto rebury the remains of 21 Vietnamese volunteer soldiers who laid down theirlives in Cambodia during wartime.
The ceremonywas attended by the provincial leaders, representatives from localorganisations, military forces, and people from all walks of life.
With supportfrom authorities in the Cambodian provinces of Rattanakiri, Preah Vihear andStung treng and the Cambodian Royal Army, the remains were found in the2017-2018 dry season by Group K52 of the Gia Lai Military Command.
Establishedin 2001, Group K52 has to date found 1,400 remains of Vietnamese soldiers and expertsfallen in Cambodia.
The remainswere repatriated and reburied at Duc Co Martyrs' Cemetery in Gia Lai’s Duc Codistrict.-VNA
