Greetings to UK on National Day

President Nguyen Xuan Phuc has sent a message of greetings to Queen Elizabeth II on the National Day of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland (UK).

Hanoi (VNA) – President Nguyen Xuan Phuchas sent a message of greetings to QueenElizabeth II on the National Day of the United Kingdom of Great Britain andNorthern Ireland (UK).

On the occasion, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh cabled a congratulatorymessage to his British counterpart Boris Johnson.

Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son also senta message of congratulations to British Secretary of State for Foreign andCommonwealth Affairs Dominic Raab.

Vietnam and the UK set up diplomatic relations in 1973.Over the past 48 years, bilateral ties have unceasingly developed.

Figures released by the General Department of Vietnam Customs show that in thefirst two months of this year, trade between Vietnam and the UK reached over1.02 billion USD, up 20.05 percent year-on-year./.

NA’s 9th session set to make landmark institutional changes

Legislators will look into and adopt a resolution amending and supplementing several articles to the Constitution 2013, the top legislator said, describing this a strategic task of both political and legal significance to institutionalise the Party’s major policies, especially the reorganisation of the state apparatus towards a streamlined and efficient structure that is closer to the people and more responsive to reality.

Vietnam, Sri Lanka vow to enhance ties in more open, breakthrough direction

Noting that Vietnam and Sri Lanka still have great potential in economic, trade and investment collaboration, the two leaders vowed to take stronger measures to increase two-way trade and investment, aiming for bilateral trade turnover of 1 billion USD, and considering the possibility of negotiating and signing a bilateral free trade agreement when conditions permit.
