Hanoi's Ba Dinh ward seeks feedback of voters' at place of residence for candidates for 16th legislature

Affirming that being nominated as a candidate for the NA is both a great honour and a heavy responsibility before the Party, the State and the people, the candidates pledged to strive to work even harder, serve the Fatherland and the people, and live up to the trust and confidence of voters and people nationwide.

Hanoi (VNA) – The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and People’s Committee of Ba Dinh ward, Hanoi, have jointly organised a conference to collect comments and confidence of voters at the places of residence for local candidates for the 16th National Assembly (NA) for the 2026-2031 term.

The candidates nominated to run for seats in the 16th legislature include Party General Secretary To Lam; NA Chairman Tran Thanh Man; Permanent Member of the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat Tran Cam Tu; Standing Vice Chairman of the NA Do Van Chien; Chairman of the Party Central Committee’s Organisation Commission Le Minh Hung; Chairman of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Internal Affairs Le Minh Tri; and Chairman of the Presidential Office Le Khanh Hai. Also attending the conference were Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee and Chief of the Party Central Committee’s Office Pham Gia Tuc, members of the Party Central Committee, leaders of central agencies, ministries and mass organisations, and leaders of Hanoi, along with a large number of voters from residential group No. 6 of the ward.

At the conference, voters were briefed on the criteria for candidates for the 16th NA and heard summaries of the backgrounds of the seven candidates currently residing in the ward.

Based on a review of the candidates’ dossiers and their working records, voters unanimously assessed that all the seven candidates fully meet the standards and conditions for candidacy for the 16th NA, and are worthy representatives in terms of political qualities, ethics, capacity and prestige. They have held and continue to hold important responsibilities within the Party and the State, and have successfully fulfilled their duties in key central leadership positions.

Voters noted that at their place of residence, the candidates have maintained close ties with the people, regularly paid attention to and stayed closely connected with the local community; strictly fulfilled their responsibilities as Party members and their civic duties; actively disseminated and mobilised the people to implement the Party’s guidelines and the State’s policies and laws; and contributed to strengthening the great national unity bloc.

At the conference, 100% of attending voters expressed absolute confidence in the seven candidates through a vote. They also voiced their trust in the leadership of the Party, headed by General Secretary Lam, and their confidence that the strategic decisions outlined at the 14th National Party Congress will usher in a new era of development, leading the country into a phase of prosperity and strength.

On behalf of the candidates, Chien sincerely thanked the voters for their confidence, affirming that this is a great source of encouragement for each candidate to continue cultivating moral qualities, maintaining political steadfastness, and devoting themselves wholeheartedly to serving the Fatherland and the people.
