HCM City (VNA) – The Ho Chi Minh City International Travel Expo (ITE HCMC) was honored as Asia’s Best Trade Show by the Word MICE Awards on September 4, reflecting its growing influence in the region's travel and tourism industry.

After 17 editions, the expo has continuously improved its professionalism, solidifying its role in promoting international tourism to Vietnam. The event provides a platform for businesses in aviation, hospitality, travel agencies, and tour operators to connect and expand their reach globally.

Held from September 5-7 in the southern metropolis, the 18th International Travel Expo Ho Chi Minh City (ITE HCMC 2024) with the theme “Sustainable Travel Travel – Creating Future” will focus on green tourism and net-zero initiatives.

Besides, HCM City was also named Asia’s Leading MICE (meetings, incentives, conventions, and exhibitions) Destination and Asia’s Leading Incentive Travel Destination by the World MICE Awards. This marks the city’s fifth consecutive win as the top MICE destination in Asia, underscoring its modern infrastructure, rich history, and cultural diversity, making it an ideal location for international MICE events.

Nguyen Thi Anh Hoa, Director of the municipal Department of Tourism, said that the city has made MICE tourism one of the four types of tourism to be prioritised for development. These accolades strengthen the city's position as a top destination for MICE tours and support its goal of becoming Asia's leading destination by 2030.

The World MICE Awards are part of the prestigious World Travel Awards, often referred to as the "Oscars of the travel industry." Established to recognise excellence in the MICE sector, the awards have gained global prominence, with the participation of hundreds of countries./.
