Hanoi (VNA) – A delegationof Ho Chi Minh City led by Vice Secretary of the municipal Party Committee VoThi Dung paid an official visit to Cuba from April 4 to 7 to explore potentialfor cooperation with localities of the Caribbean country.
At a meeting with Juan Carlos MarsanAguilera, deputy head of the department for external relations of the CubanCommunist Party Central Committee, the two sides reviewed the traditional relationswhich serve as a solid foundation to strengthen the Vietnam-Cuba comprehensivecooperation.
They also informed each other of recentaccomplishments in their respective countries’ socio-economic development, aswell as outstanding challenges and the situation in their respective regions.
Dung introduced HCM City’s advantagesand fields with huge potential for cooperation.
While in Cuba, the HCM Citydelegation held a working session with the country’s Ministry of Foreign Tradeand Investment and visited Artemisa province, home to a village named afterVietnam’s Ben Tre province, which has engaged in friendship with Vietnam fordecades.
The delegation also visited theMariel Special Development Zone, which is hoped to become an economic motiveforce to bolster Cuba’s growth. -VNA
Cuba’s 60th Liberation Day marked in HCM City
The People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City hosted a ceremony on January 17 to celebrate Cuba’s 60th Liberation Day with the participation of municipal leaders, representatives of the Cuban Consulate General and the Cuban community in the city.
