HCM City mayor receives Cuban culture minister

Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee Le Hoang Quan gavethe suggestion at a reception for the visiting Cuban Minister ofCulture, Abel Enrique Prieto Jimenez, on October 23.

The mayor noted with pleasure that Cuba have reaped achievementsin economic restructuring and national development despite a wide rangeof difficulties.

Quan said he believed under theleadership of the Communist Party of Cuba, leader Fidel Castro andPresident Raul Castro, the fraternal Cuban people would recorded moresuccesses in the process of national defence and construction.

He said HCM City wants to promote its cooperation, especially inthe fields of culture, science and tourism, with Cuban localities.

Prieto Jimenez affirmed the Cuban people’s deep sentiments towardstheir Vietnamese counterparts and expressed his admiration for the rapiddevelopment of Vietnam and the city in particular.

The minister said he hoped that cooperative relations between Cubaand Vietnam , including cultural cooperation, would further developin the future./.
