HCM City to host ASEAN youth forum 2015

Thirty-six outstanding young people from seven ASEAN member countries, including Brunei, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, Thai Land and Vietnam will gather at the ASEAN Youth Forum 2015.

Thirty-six outstanding young people from seven ASEAN member countries, including Brunei, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, Thai Land and Vietnam will gather at the ASEAN Youth Forum 2015 slated for September 17-19 in Ho Chi Minh City.

ASEAN youth will present solutions to preserving national cultural identities during integration process along with discussing the bloc’s common issues, like the building of an ASEAN Community, Lam Dinh Thang, deputy secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Communist Youth Union told the press on September 15.

They will seek to enhance awareness of ASEAN cultural values, conserve ASEAN cultural heritage and promote ASEAN cultural industry.

Exhibitions showcasing national traditional costumes, cultural practices and cultural relic sites will be held.

In addition, the delegates will make field trips to historic sites and famous destinations in Ho Chi Minh City.

Earlier on May 23, a festival titled “Colours of ASEAN” was held in Putrajaya, Malaysia to boost cultural exchange and mutual understanding among ASEAN youth.-VNA

Second government legislation meeting reviews draft bills

In his opening speech, PM Pham Minh Chinh revealed the Government’s plan to submit 63 documents and reports to the 15th NA’s 9th session, including 37 draft laws and regulatory resolutions, all aimed at having a wide-ranging impact on society.
