The Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation (HSBC) in Vietnamsaid on April 6 it has been awarded the prestigious ‘Visa Leadership inPayment Volume’ prize for the second time.
Thebank beat 35 other financial institutions to win the award for recordingthe largest amount of payments through Visa’s credit card both locallyand overseas.
HSBC is one of the largest bankingand financial services organisations in the world. Its card is acceptedin 19,000 outlets in more than 160 countries and territories, includingalmost 1, 000 in Vietnam .
Launched inVietnam in 2008, HSBC Visa credit cards are becoming popularly andhave grown remarkably over the last few years. The total spending oncredit cards has had an annual growth rate of more than 100 percent overthe last three years.
The Visa Bank Awards are an annual eventorganised by Visa to recognise its top banking partners for promotingthe development of credit cards in Vietnam through its innovativeproducts that truly reflect consumer needs.-VNA
