Hanoi (VNA) – The 12th PartyCentral Committee listened to several important schemes on economic issuesduring the first working day of its fifth plenary meeting on May 5.

Following the opening speech of Party GeneralSecretary Nguyen Phu Trong, the committee approved the agenda of the plenum.

Politburo member and Secretary of the Party CentralCommittee Nguyen Van Binh, who is also head of the Party Central Committee’s EconomicCommission, presented the Political Bureau’s proposals on the scheme oncompleting institutions of the socialist-oriented market economy.

The meeting also heard the Politburo’s proposals ona project on the rearrangement, reform and efficiency improvement of State-ownedenterprises, and another reviewing the 15-year implementation of the ninth PartyCentral Committee’s Resolution on the development of the private economicsector.

In the afternoon, the committee worked in groups todiscuss the project on completing institutions of the socialist-oriented marketeconomy.-VNA
