Incense offering ceremony held in honour of Hung Kings

Viet Tri city in the northern province of Phu Tho, home to the Hung Kings Temple Relic Site, held an incense offering ceremony at the site on March 31, ahead of the annual Hung Kings Temple Festival.

Phu Tho (VNA) – Viet Tri city in the northernprovince of Phu Tho, home to the Hung Kings Temple Relic Site, held an incenseoffering ceremony at the site on March 31, ahead of the annual Hung KingsTemple Festival.

The Hung Kings Temple Festival is held at the site on the 10th day of the third lunar month to commemorate the founders of the first nation inthe history of Vietnam, called Van Lang.

Millions of people across the country flock to the HungKings Temple in Viet Tri on the occasion.

Ruling the country through 18 generations (2879–258 BC),the Hung Kings taught locals how to grow wet rice. They chose Nghia LinhMountain, the highest in the region, to perform rituals devoted to rice and sundeities to pray for lush crops.

The worshipping ritual of the Hung Kings was recognised asUNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2012.

Viet Tri city, which was the first capital of Vietnam underthe Van Lang administration, still owns many archaeological and historical relicsrelated to Hung Kings’ reign.

19 localities eradicate substandard houses

Four more provinces have announced the completion of efforts to eliminate makeshift and dilapidated housing, bringing the total number of localities achieving this milestone to 19 out of 63 nationwide, according to the Ministry of Ethnic and Religious Affairs.

Vietnam accelerates repatriation of citizens detained in Myanmar

On April 8, 28, and May 14, three groups comprising a total of 471 citizens safely returned to Vietnam.
