Indonesia, Cambodia strengthen anti-corruption cooperation

Leaders of Indonesia’s Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) and Cambodia’s Anti-Corruption Unit (ACU) had a meeting in Jakarta on March 8 to discuss measures to enhance regional and international cooperation in addressing cross-border corruption cases.

Jakarta (VNA) – Leaders of Indonesia’s Corruption EradicationCommission (KPK) and Cambodia’s Anti-Corruption Unit (ACU) had a meeting inJakarta on March 8 to discuss measures to enhance regional and internationalcooperation in addressing cross-border corruption cases.

KPK Chairman Firli Bahuri said that the ACU delegation’svisit is a motivation for setting up the two countries’ cooperation in thisfield.

He stressed the need for ASEAN countries to support eachother in preventing transnational corruption and promote internationalcooperation in this work through strengthening the anti-corruption agenda atinternational forums.

ACU Vice President Yonn Sinat stated that discussions at themeeting aimed to promote bilateral cooperation in exchanging information and experiencein corruption prevention and prosecution.

During their stay on March 8-9, the ACU delegation attended educationactivities on the culture of integrity and corruption prevention and control, andshared experience in asset declaration management, confiscated goods and assetsmanagement, and took part in a meeting of the ASEAN Parties Against Corruption(ASEAN-PAC)./.
