 Indonesia and Norway will foster cooperation in sustainable aquaculture and fishery development and in fighting illegal fishing.

The agreement came during a meeting between Norwegian Minister of Fisheries Elisabeth Aspaker and Indonesian Minister of Marine and Fishery Affairs Susi Pudjiastuti during the latter’s visit to Norway from August 18-21.

The two ministers also determined measures to boost aquaculture trade and discussed a proposal to establish a bilateral consulting forum on aquaculture.

On the sidelines of the Indonesian minister’s visit, she delivered a speech at the conference to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Code of Conduct for Responsible Fisheries and Aquaculture.-VNA
