Jakarta (VNA) – In an effort to attract more foreign tourists, the Tourism Ministry of Indonesia is carrying out a tourism promotion campaign on buses in Russia’s two large cities of Moscow and Saint Petersburg.

The number of Russian visitors to Indonesia rose by 6.97 percent to 15,728 in 2018 from 117,532 tourist arrivals in 2017.

“Through the data, we can see that our market potential is huge in the country. Therefore, we will boost it with our best efforts,” the Jakarta Post newspaper quoted the ministry’s head of marketing development Nia Niscaya as saying.

The buses are decorated with pictures of several famous travel destinations in Bali, Central Java and East Java.

In Moscow, Indonesia’s tourism slogan is advertised on a bus that passes through several routes and squares such as Bolotnaya Square, Arbatskaya Square, and Smolenskaya Square.

Meanwhile, the bus in Saint Petersburg passes several routes, such as St. Isaac’s Cathedral, Anichkov Palace, Vosstaniya Square, Arts Square, Eternal Flame, and Bronze Horseman.

The branding period started on June 15 and will end on July 31.-VNA
