Indonesia's counter-terrorism police shot dead six militants andarrested another in a 10-hour standoff at a house near Jakartaon December 31 evening.
According to local media, those whowere killed had refused to surrender and fired and lobbed homemade bombsat security forces, injuring one police officer.
Six homemade bombs were also found in the house.
The police has identified one of the militants as Nurul Haq, who wasbelieved to take part in a series of shootings at police officers monthsago.
His gang is suspected to be involved in a plot to bombthe Myanmar Embassy in Jakarta in May and a Buddhist temple in WestJakarta in July which injured one person.
