International Pharmaceutical Exhibition opens

The 10th International Medicine and Pharmaceutical Exhibition opened in Ho Chi Minh City on August 18 with 220 companies from 20 countries and territories all over the world taking part.

The 10th International Medicine and Pharmaceutical Exhibition openedin Ho Chi Minh City on August 18 with 220 companies from 20 countriesand territories all over the world taking part.

Co-organised by the Ministry of Health (MOH) and the Ministry ofIndustry and Trade, the event will introduce healthcare and laboratoryequipment, medicines, production equipment and hospital medicalequipment.

Seminars on the Vietnamese pharmacysector, regulations on production and trade and fact-finding trips tomedical manufacturers and hospitals will also be held.

Nguyen Van Thanh, Deputy Head of the Drug Administration Departmentunder the MOH, said that the exhibition will spotlight the latestachievements in Vietnam’s medical sector and across the world. It isalso an excellent opportunity for experts and healthcare businesses toexpand international cooperation and increase access to hightechnologies as well as public health services.

The event will last until August 21./.

Brain-dead organ donor helps save six lives

Within 24 hours, the process of receiving the donated liver, two kidneys, two corneas, and skin to conducte transplantation for six patients was completed. The last surgery ended at 8:00 pm on May 3.

Free medical checkups provided for border residents

Running from April 12-13, the activity forms part of the 9th Vietnam–China Border Defence Friendship Exchange Programme, scheduled for April 16-17 in Vietnam’s Lang Son province and China’s Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.

First third-gen artificial heart implant successful in Vietnam
