According to historical records, the site, which is located on the slopes of Chau Chu Mountain in Thuy Bang Ward, Hue City, was chosen by Khai Dinh with construction beginning in 1920. After the King passed away in 1925, he was laid to rest there, though the tomb was not fully completed until 1931.
