The 2025 awards mark a record-breaking year, with 1.71 million partners receiving recognition (a 16% increase from the previous year). This includes over 1.7 million accommodation providers, 1,329 car rental companies, and 124 taxi service providers.

The list of the World's Friendliest Destinations is determined based on the proportion of award-winning accommodation providers relative to the total number of properties in a given destination. This approach highlights a diverse range of locations across different continents.

To be included, destinations must have a higher-than-average number of recognised establishments (a minimum of 200 for cities and regions). Selections are also made with geographical diversity in mind, ensuring representation from various areas. Whether they are coffee farms, unspoiled beaches, or towns nestled in lush forests, these destinations showcase the world's incredible variety and inspire travellers to embark on unforgettable journeys.

Kien Giang earns its place among the world's friendliest destinations thanks to its exceptional tourism services. Situated along a branch of the Mekong River, the province captivates visitors with its stunning natural landscapes, from pristine beaches and lush mangrove forests to the renowned island paradise of Phu Quoc.

Beyond its breathtaking scenery, Kien Giang invites travellers to immerse themselves in rich cultural traditions, savour unique local delicacies, and experience the genuine warmth and hospitality of its people. This recognition also highlights the outstanding service quality of the region's accommodation providers, further enhancing the charm and distinct identity of this remarkable destination.

The Mekong Delta province of Kien Giang welcomed over 897,160 visitors, including 126,175 foreigners, in January, achieving 8.4% of the annual target, according to the provincial Department of Tourism./
