Kookmin Bank opens first branch in Hanoi

Kookmin Bank of the Korean KB Group has opened its first branch in Hanoi on the 25th floor of Landmark72 building after receiving approval from the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV).

Hanoi (VNA) - KookminBank of the Korean KB Group has opened its first branch in Hanoi on the 25thfloor of Landmark72 building after receiving approval from the State Bank of Vietnam(SBV).

Kookmin Bank will provide financial services toKorean Corporations and continuously promote investment in northern Vietnam. Italso plans to develop financial services for individual Vietnamese customers bydeveloping a digital banking service.

CEO Hur Yin said Vietnam is a great market inwhich to develop advanced financial services from the Republic of Korea.

“There are 150,000 Korean people living in Vietnamand 7,000 Korean enterprises operating in the country, the cooperation andexchange between Vietnam and the Republic of Korea will increase rapidly,” hesaid.

“Apart from financial activities, we will boostsocial responsibility. We do charity in Tuyen Quang and Phu Tho provinces. Wealso help the University of Social Sciences and Humanities compiling text booksin Korean.”-VNA

Vietnam ready to further open market for US exports: Minister

Regarding the ongoing negotiations on a Reciprocal Trade Agreement between the two countries, he emphasised that Vietnam remains consistent in its approach to the talks with the US, aiming for a bilateral agreement based on respect for sovereignty, independence, political system, harmonisation and balance of interests, as well as in line with international commitments and the development level of each country.
