Lao leader visits former Party chief Nong Duc Manh in Hanoi

Hanoi (VNA) – During his state visit to Vietnam, Lao Party General Secretary and President Thongloun Sisoulith visited former General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Nong Duc Manh in Hanoi on the afternoon of September 10.

Hosting the Lao leader, Manh praised the significance of the Lao leader's visit and congratulated Laos on its recent achievements. He also expressed his confidence that the Vietnam-Laos relationship will continue to grow stronger.
Sisoulith took the occasion to thank the former Vietnamese Party chief for his significant contributions to the countries’ special ties, which were established by the late Vietnamese President Ho Chi Minh and Lao Presidents Kaysone Phomvihane and Souphanouvong and have been continuously nurtured by the generations of leaders and people of both sides.

He stated Laos is committed to preserving, fostering, and passing on the sound tradition of the bilateral relations to future generations./.
