Lao leaders extend sympathy to Vietnam over losses caused by typhoon Yagi

Hanoi (VNA) – General Secretary of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party Central Committee (LPRP) and President of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith and Lao Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone on September 9 sent message of sympathy to General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee and President of Vietnam To Lam and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh over heavy losses in human and property of the Vietnamese people caused by typhoon Yagi on September 6 and 7.

In their messages, the Lao leaders sent their sincere sympathy and condolences to their Vietnamese counterparts as well as to the Party, Government and fraternal people of Vietnam, especially the authorities and families of the victims affected by this natural disaster.

They also expressed their belief that under the leadership and close attention of the Party and Government of Vietnam from the central to local levels, the fraternal Vietnamese people will overcome all difficulties, and the lives of people and localities affected by the natural disaster will soon stabilise and return to normal./.
