More than 200 Lao and Cambodian students studying in the northernprovince of Thai Nguyen attended a meeting to mark the 36th anniversaryof Laos’s National Day (Dec. 2).
At the event, delegates reviewed Laos’s historical traditions and the development of the two countries’ relationship.
Since2008, Thai Nguyen has welcomed hundreds of Lao students and more than200 Lao students are studying in the locality in the 2011-2012 academicyear.
Addressing the event, Lao Ambassador to Vietnam SomphonSichalon thanked the Thai Nguyen chapter of the Vietnam-Laos FriendshipAssociation for organising the event, which helped boost friendlyrelations, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between thetwo nations./.
